Do you remember when you were a kid and you caught your brother or sister doing something they shouldn’t be doing?
Maybe you tried to stop them, maybe you didn’t.
Did you ever see them doing something they shouldn’t be doing but had no desire to yell out “I’m tellliinngggggg” in your usual sing-songy voice because you happened to know that your dad was about to come around the corner and see what they were doing?
You could just sat tight and wait in excited anticipation for what would happen when dad showed up!
What a thrill!
Daddy’s coming, and you could not have been more excited to watch it go down.
Ok…maybe you weren’t so mean, but you know what I’m talking about.
This past week has been a week of just plain frustration with people who have decided to falsely accuse and treat Adam and I unfairly.
I am always amazed at the way God prepares you and sets you up for situations that you don’t even know are coming.
I have been hearing these specific things at Bible study, church, reading the same things in my Bible reading time and even hearing on the radio exactly what I need to hear.
Here it is.
1. Expect people to treat you unfairly.
2. Remember that God sees.
3. Vengeance belongs to God.
I can not even tell you how comforting this has been to me.
I have been treated unfairly and falsely accused before, and I’m sure I will be again.
But normally, I can feel my flesh rising up in me and I just want to take care of it!
I HATE when things are not fair. When things are not just.
It just drives me crazy!
I want to show people that they can’t think they can treat people poorly and get away with it!
I want to show people that they need to pay for what they have done!
But today. Things were different.
Today, I knew that I would potentially be faced with seeing the people who are treating us this way.
And my flesh has been rising up and really fighting to take over.
But today, I was a new girl.
See, I realized something today.
My Father in heaven is seeing and watching the accusations and the treatment.
He is in complete control.
And He WILL deal with them the way he needs to!
I don’t need to tell anyone.
I don’t need to defend myself. (obviously there are times when you need to speak up about certain things, but in this case I didn’t.)
I don’t need to get back at them or show them a lesson.
Daddy is right behind me.
He will see them.
He will act justly and take care of what he needs to take care of in a much better way than I ever could!
Let me just tell you how much better I have felt since realizing that, and how it has affected everything.
Now to you.
The one skimming this post and feeling a little bit of a nudge.
A little bit of a reminder that you have been trying to pay people back for what they’ve done.
A little bit of a reminder that you have been just waiting for a way to get back at someone or maybe you’ve just been holding on to the unforgiveness and the bitterness.
Let. It. Go!!
Let it go!
Understand something! GOD SEES!
I promise you he does.
2 Chronicles 16:9 says this:
For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
He sees!! He really, really sees!
And He is just. He will pay back what deserves to be paid back.
He’s got you.
So today, do what I did.
Just sit back and wait.
Just wait. And realize that DADDY IS COMING!
He will see what they are doing wrong and he will take care of it.
Don’t even waste your breath or your energy…
