Dear tired mom,
I know that you know.
You know it’s a phase.
You know that it flies by.
You know that you’ll miss this.
You know that you’ll be able to sleep later.
But knowing doesn’t make anything easier right NOW.
Knowing doesn’t make you feel more rested, more energetic or more patient.
So I just want you to know something.
You’re allowed to feel things.
You’re allowed to feel tired, frustrated, even downright sad.
Don’t think that you’re the only mom feeling this way right now.
Don’t think that you’re gonna be stuck feeling this way forever.
Do not let yourself feel guilty for any of those thoughts and emotions that have come over you.
Guilt is a mean trick of the enemy and it’s nothing but a trap.
It comes in like a boss and tries to bully you into thinking that you are its new home.
You’re not.
Recognize it for what it is the second it comes in.
Kick it out and move on.
You will have new mercies tomorrow morning (even if the morning means 2am, 4am, and 6am!)
Just keep holding on.
Reach out to someone if you need help.
Ask for a babysitter, a meal, prayer.
Don’t try to go it alone.
I feel your pain…I remember it. Clearly.
Know that I see you, and I think you are amazing.
I know you’re tired. But you’re gonna make it.
Keep holding on.
