The reason I love it so much is because I had these baby boys… And then one day I blinked, and they turned into grown men.
I realize how much I love photography more and more every year, because I feel like I am already forgetting things.
What their little hair cuts were, what those tiny little hands looked like next to mine, the blankets they couldn’t sleep without, and the way their heads fit between my shoulder and my neck when they fell asleep on me.
Those little details.
That is what is important to me now.
The pictures I flip through quickly are the posed Christmas shots I got every year, and the pictures I can’t keep my eyes off are the sometimes blurry, special little moments that were captured when their faces lit up when they looked up at my face.
When I started my business 8 years ago, I didn’t know what I was doing. I just loved people and I loved photography.
The longer I have shot, the more and more I realized the things that were important to me.
That is why, when you book a family session with me? It is a little different than a lot of other photographers.
It is a little different than studios sessions, and not everyone likes it. And that’s ok!
These days, you can find a thousand photographers without even trying, so you can pick and choose what is important to you.
If you are like me, and care about the little details? You will appreciate why I do what I do.
If you are looking for formal, posed family pictures in a beautiful setting to put as a canvas above your fireplace?
That’s totally cool…It’s just not going to be from me!
But I do have some friends who are fantastic at that and I will be happy to refer you to them!
See…I learned a long time ago that I couldn’t start comparing myself.
I couldn’t start trying to make everyone happy and get all the clients.
Honestly? I don’t want all the clients.
I want to meet other families who are like me.
Who do life similar to how I do life, and who care about little moments more than formal poses.
So what you get when you book a family session with me is all the images.
All of them.
I promise you at least 30, edited images.
My last session I gave over 100. Sometimes that happens.
Because I don’t want you to have to choose between the image that shows your arm holding your little boy on your hip and the one that you can use for your Christmas cards.
I don’t want to choose, so I don’t want you to have to choose!
So if you are looking for someone to capture your family in the true sense of what your family is? I’d love to be your girl.
I am offering sunset family sessions in the month of August, and am only taking a limited amount of sessions.
I am also offering family documentary sessions.
Don’t let time get away from you. Don’t miss out on capturing those special little details that you would give anything to remember once it’s gone!
